As the 2026 Ramadan Fast is less than a month away, Jos Imam, Sheikh Omar Farouk, has called on Muslims to begin fasting in this month of Shaban to get more rewards.
Farouk, who is the 2nd Deputy Chief Imam of Fiber Mosque, old Airport Road, Jos, stated this on Friday, while quoting from the Hadith.
He said that, paying Zakat during Ramadan is not compulsory and important as during the month of Shaban.
Farouk pointed out that Prophet Muhammad fasted a lot during the month of Shaban and should be emulated.
According to him, the fear of Allah and engaging in good deed is a shure way to success hereafter.
“Emulate the Prophet’s conduct and behavior. Do good deed.
“Abstain from acts that will make you forget Allah and worship Him,” he advised.
The Imam, said the Angels of God always “record our deeds twice daily and bring them to God and reminded the worshipers that Allah is aware of all our deeds.”
He emphasized that believers should cultivate the habit of forgiveness and purification of the heart to achieve ease hereafter.
