Kano Government Approves N1.2b For Reconstructions Of Dilapidated Roads In Metropolis

Kano State Government has earmarked the sum of 1.2 Billion Naira for the reconstruction and rehabilitation of some roundabouts and 42 roads in the State Capital.

Kano State Commissioner for Information, Mallam Muhammad Garba, who disclosed this, explained that the rehabilitation became necessary in view of the dilapidated nature of the roads worsen by the current rainy season.

“A Technical Committee which was constituted by the State Government to supervise the work, has already reached out to the contracting firms some of whom have been mobilized to undertake the project,” he said.

Garba said the roundabouts to be reconstructed include those at First Bank and A. A Rano Filling station while the roads earmarked for rehabilitation include: Audu Bako Way, Mission Road, Hotoro Tsamiyar Boka Road, New Hospital Road, Sabo Bakin Zuwo road, Lamido Crescent, ‘Yan Mota Kofar Mazugal, Gwammaja-Wapa and Kwanar Dala – Gidan Malam Aminu Junction.

Also to be rehabilitated are, Igbo Road, France Road, Bello Terrace, Iyaka Road, Sabon Titi Mandawari, Dakata Road, Danhassan Eastern Bypass, Aminu Kano Way – Kofar Ruwa and Festing-Bompai road among others.
