Kano State Government has inaugurated a 23-man Committee on Inter -Religious Tolerance Conference.
Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje who inaugurated the committee emphasized that being one of the oldest civilizations in Nigeria, Kano is highly cosmopolitan.
“For the State to continue to co-exist with other nationalities, we need programme like this,” he said.
He, therefore, charged the Committee to organize a befitting religious conference that will address the problems in the management of diversity in Nigeria.
The Committee, which is made up of among other Clergymen from Islam and Christianity, has Sheikh Muhammad Bin Uthman, Chief Imam of Sahaba Mosque as Chairman while Arch Bishop Peter Ogunmuyiwa is the Co-chair.
Mallam Muhammad Garba, Kano State Commissioner for Information, is to serve as the secretary of the Committee.
