Governor Abba Kabiru Yusuf
From Kano State, North West Nigeria, comes a report that the State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf has announced a reshuffle of the State Executive Council.
A statement by the Director General, Media and Publicity, Government House, Kano, Sanusi Bature DawakinTofa, on Thursday says, the development, which takes immediate effect, is “to effect pragmatic political realignment of his administration.”
According to the statement, Governor Yusuf maintained the much awaited decision finally came to enable optimum performance that will drive more dividend of democracy to the good people of Kano state.
Those dropped from the cabinet are:
1. Chief of Staff, Alh. Shehu Wada Sagagi whose office is now scrapped.
2. Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Abdullahi Baffa Bichi dropped on health ground.
3. Ibrahim Jibril Fagge, Ministry of Finance
4. Ladidi Ibrahim Garko, Culture and Tourism
5. Baba Halilu Dantiye, Information and Internal Affairs.
6. Shehu Aliyu Yammedi, Special Duties.
7.Abbas Sani Abbas, Rural and Community Development.
Those retained are:
1. Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Haruna Isa Dederi
2. Commissioner for Agriculture, Dr. Danjuma Mahmoud.
3 Commissioner for Health, Dr. Abubakar Labaran.
4. Commissioner for Land and Physical Planning, Abduljabbar Mohammed Umar.
5. Commissioner for Budget and Planning Musa Suleiman Shannon
6. Commissioner for Works and Housing Engr. Marwan Ahmad.
7. Commissioner for Solid and Mineral Resources, Sefiyanu Hamza.
8. Commissioner for Religious Affairs, Shiekh Ahmad Tijani Auwal.
9. Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso.
10. Commissioner for Investment and Commerce, Adamu Aliyu Kibiya.
11. Commissioner of Internal Security and Special Services, Major General Mohammad Inuwa Idris (Rtd.)
Those reassigned are:
1. Deputy Governor, Comrade Aminu Abdulssalam who is moved from Ministry of Local Government to Higher Education.
2. Mohammad Tajo Usman, moved from Science and Technology to Ministry for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs.
3. Dr. Yusuf Ibrahim Kofar Mata from Higher Education to Science, Technology and Innovation.
4. Amina Abdullahi from Humanitarian and Poverty Alleviation to Ministry for Women, Children and Disable.
5. Nasiru Sule Garo, from Ministry of Environment and Climate Change to Ministry of Special Duties.
6. Ibrahim Namadi from
Ministry for Project Monitory and Evaluation moved to Ministry of Transport.
7. Umar Haruna Doguwa of Ministry of Education now moved to Ministry of Water Resources.
8. Ali Haruna Makoda moved from Water Resources to Ministry of Education.
9. Aisha Lawal Saji from Ministry of Women, Children and Disable to Tourism and Culture.
10 Muhammad Diggol from Transport to Ministry of Project Monitoring and Evaluation.
Meanwhile, the statement says, Governor Yusuf has directed the Chief of Staff and the five commissioners that are dropped to report to the office of the Governor for possible reassignment.
