From Kano, North-west Nigeria, comes a report that voting is on going peacefully in polling centres in Kano metropolitan areas in the Governorship and House of Assembly Elections.
Our Correspondent who was in parts of Nassarawa, Kano Municipal, Fagge and Tarauni Local Government Areas reports that accreditation and voting commenced in some centres as early as 8.30am.
Although the exercise was peaceful as of the time our Correspondent visited the areas, there were however rowdiness especially at Dakata Kawaji polling centre as a result of a misunderstanding by the agents on the voting pattern to be adopted.
Some of the voters commended the peaceful nature and the early commencement of the exercise.
Some of the electoral officials told our Correspondent that the voters have been very cooperative while the BVAS are working perfectly.
There were also presence of uniformed security personnel at the polling centres.
