Kano/Jigawa Editors Arrive Owerri For 2023 NGE Biennial Convention

Editors from Kano and Jigawa States in North West geopolitical zone of Nigeria, led by Dr. Sule Ya’u Sule, have just arrived at Sam- Mbakwe International Airport Owerri, Imo State to join Editors from other parts of the country for Election of the 23rd President of the Nigerian Guild of Editors and other officials of the Guild.

Members of the Guild are Editors drawn from Television, Radio, Newspapers, Magazines and Online Media.

Two Candidates are contesting for the Presidential seat of the prestigious professional body. They are the Editor of Vanguard Newspapers, Eze Anaba and the Editor of Western Post Newspapers, Bolaji Adebiyi.

More than 400 financial members are expected to vote in the election.

Who emerges winner of the election will take over the mantle of leadership from Mustapha Isa of Silverbird Television who has completed his two terms tenure as the President of the Guild.

The Election is scheduled to hold on Friday, June 16, 2023.

13. Halilu Dantiye (2003-2007)

14. Gbenga Adefaye (2008-2012)

15. Femi Adesina (2013-2015)

16. Garbadeen Muhammad (2015-2016)

17. Funke Egbemode (2016-2019)

18. Isa Mustapha (2019-2023)
