Kano NUJ Celebrates With Muslims On 2023 Eid-el-fitr

Kano State Council of the Nigeria Union Of Journalists, NUJ, has celebrated With Muslims in Nigeria and across the world on the occasion of 2023 Eid el fitr.

In a statement co-signed by Chairman and Secretary of the Union, Comrade Abbas Ibrahim and Abba Murtala, the Council called on Muslims to imbibe the lessons of Ramadan which include love, sacrifice, peace as well as brotherhood as the country ushers in a new democratic dispensation.

The Council appreciates the role of Journalists, Security Agencies, INEC, Civil Society Organisations, the Electorates as well as other stakeholders in the just concluded Elections in Kano State, North West Nigeria and the country at large.

“People should continue to support democratic values, elected leaders should put the Country First as they come up with people-oriented programs that will address Economic, Social and Political challenges,” the statement said.

The Union also felicitated with in-coming and out-going Administrations in Kano State on the sallah celebrations.

It advised Media Practitioners to strictly adhere to their professional ethics in the discharge of their duties.

The council stressed the need for citizens to be extra vigilant and report suspicious movements to Security Agencies.

It prayed for a hitch free Eid el fitr celebrations and prosperous rainy season.
