Kano State Council of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, has on Sunday, inaugurated Kano Online Media Chapel.
Nigerian Kicker, which is a member of the inaugurated Chapel, reports that the inauguration ceremony, was jointly organized by NUJ and Kano state Ministry of Information and Internal Affairs.

Addressing the maiden Exco of the Chapel, Kano state Commissioner of Information and Internal Affairs, Comrade Ibrahim Abdullahi Waiya, expressed excitement over the success of the inauguration.
According to him, the new Online Chapel was made possible to enhance information dissemination in Kano state.
“The Online Chapel is not aimed at competing with anyone or other stakeholders in the media industry.
“We just want to take advantage of the opportunity that the digital communication space provides.
“We are here for unity and development with primary focus on sanitizing the media outlets in Kano,” he said.
He expressed excitement over the success of the inauguration adding that he has already committed himself to being a permanent and lasting friend of Journalists.
Waiya, noted that he saw a lot of prospects in his decision to become a professional Journalist whether as Commissioner of information or not.
He described the Inauguration as fantastic and a milestone in the practice of journalism in Kano state.
“Online media has come to stay in Nigeria, it has come to stay in the world and we are trying to transform it into a critical stakeholder in the business of information dissemination in Kano state.
“We can not allow Online media from Kano to be left out,” he added.
