A 3-day induction retreat organised for the newly elected members of the Kano State House of Assembly has ended in Kaduna, North West Nigeria.
The retreat was organized by Kano State Government in collaboration with Ultimate Synergy Solutions limited.
It was designed specifically to prepare the House members with requisite knowledge of constitutional duties of law making , legislations and oversight functions on government ministries, Departments and Agencies.
Addressing the closing ceremony, Speaker Jibril Ismail Falgore urged the participants to use what they learnt during the retreat in their daily engagements of discharging their constitutional responsibilities.
“We have had a very wonderful presentations and a mock session from our resource persons and I believe we have had a very good discussions and have many new things to take home and share with our colleagues during our subsequent Legislative engagements.
“Participants have been exposed to new understanding and knowledge about constitutional duties of Law making, Representations and oversight functions on Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
“I’m confident that the new ideas learnt would be put into practice, ” Falgore said.
He thanked Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for sponsoring the retreat and the lead consultant Alhaji Lawan Badamasi for taking them through different aspects of Legislative processes and procedures in legislative practice.
While corroborating the Speaker, the Majority Leader of the House, Lawal Hussaini representing Dala Constituency said, no doubt the retreat had served as an avenue of ideas crystalization and brainstorming on matters related to Legislative Service and commended the foresight of the Governor for coming up with the retreat and assured him that the Honorable House would continue to have a harmonious working relations with executive arm of government for the Speedy development of Kano State.
A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Speaker, Uba Abdullahi says the Induction Retreat was attended by the House members and Management Staff of the Assembly.
