Leader of the Legislative Council of Yorro LGA in Taraba State, North East Nigeria, Doris Konla, alongside the Deputy Leader and all elected Councilors, has formally announced their defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Our Correspondent reports that the announcement was made on Thursday, during plenary at the Legislative Chambers in Yorro, following the swearing-in ceremony of the newly elected councilors earlier at the Local Government Headquarters in Pantisawa.
Reading the jointly signed letter on behalf of the councilors, Konla said, “we hereby formally announce our defection to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in support of the ‘Renewed Hope Agenda’ of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”
The letter further emphasized the council’s alignment with the political direction of the state’s chief executive:
“We are solidly behind President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and our leader, Governor Agbu Kefas, as we await his formal declaration to join the APC.”
Our Correspondent observes that the mass defection marks a significant realignment within Yorro’s political landscape, signaling a growing consolidation of support for the APC across Taraba State.
