Love Of God Is Obedience To His Command- Imam Hassan

Chief Imam of 551, Nigerian Air Force Station Central Mosque Jos, Flight Lieutenant Imran Zakariyya Hassan, has admonished believers to take obedience as the supreme form of worship of Allah.

Hassan gave the admonition in a sermon he delivered on Friday in Jos, Plateau State, North-Central Nigeria.

Imam Hassan, whose sermon was anchored on, “Prophet’s Love as a catalyst for successful life” said, Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) was sent to mankind to enlighten and purify people from indulgence in sins and immoralities through the teachings of Quran and his prophetic traditions.

“Being passionate about his community development, he strived vigorously on what will add values to his people’s lives and what will benefit them in this world and the hereafter.

“This teaching implies obeying his commandments and staying away from his prohibitions, doing good and remaining compassionate by helping the less privileged in the society,” he said.

The Imam noted that whoever follows and obeys the teachings of the Prophet and His guidance will prosper in this world and the hereafter and whoever fails to follow his guidance will be tormented with misfortunes and calamities and other trials that befell the previous nation.

“There are signs and symbols that indicate one’s love for the Prophet. The essential ones among them are: emulating him, putting his teachings into practice and to be disciplined by his guidance.

“O servants of Allah, know that our love for the Prophet categorically means obeying him in all our affairs,” he warned.

Hassan reminded the congregation that the Prophet’s love should reflect in our lives and should be a culture that “we would all adopt generally”

He also warned that people at all level of leadership should know that their love for the Prophet “remains inconsequential until they uphold justice in their administration.”

“The Prophet ordered you to be just to your subjects. Give them their welfare and rights accordingly. Being just is an act of worship,” he reminded the worshippers.

He recalled that the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said, “the just will be seated upon pulpits of light.”

The Chief Imam also called on Marketers and merchants to know that their love for the Prophet remains inconsequential until they uphold honesty and leniency in their trade.

Hassan’s sermon also admonished Pupils and Students to know that their love for the Prophet remains inconsequential until they uphold his guidance in seeking for knowledge.

“The Prophet ordered you to seek for both Islamic and conventional knowledge. Hence, seeking for knowledge is compulsory and it is an act of worship. Know that you can’t become a medical doctor or an engineer without seeking for knowledge. So, you have to take your academic activities diligently.

“If you purify you intention and consider your studies as a means to benefit yourself and your society you will be rewarded for that and it will serve as a means for your success.

“Allah stated that whoever obeys the Prophet’s instructions will be guided and will surely prosper. Also, the Prophet asserted that Allah loves for you to perfect in any task or responsibility assigned to you,” he reminded them.
