Managing Director, Kano State Housing Corporation, Alh Abdullahi Rabi’u, has urged Federal Road Safety Commission to intensify efforts towards enlightening the people to understand the importance of obeying traffic rules and regulations.
Rabiu gave the advice when the Kano State Sector Commander of the FRSC, Alh Umar Mas’ud Matazu paid him a courtesy visit in his office.
“The work of Federal Road Safety Commission is a work of humanity as it deals with saving lives of people.
“I appreciates the way you render your services especially with regards to road accidents and clearing traffic congestions.
“I urge you to put more effort on public enlightenment with a view to making the general public understand the importance of obeying driving rules and regulations,” he said.
On the lingering issue of the Kano command office at Bandirawo estate, the Managing Director, promised to address it immediately without further delay.

Earlier, the Kano. State Sector Commander of the FRSC, Alh Umar Mas’ud Matazu, said he was at the corporation as part of his familiarisation tour to staker holder Agencies to seek their support and cooperation towards achieving optimum and better operation.
The Sector Commander noted the long existing cordial relationship between the Housing Corporation and the Kano office of the FRSC and called for the renewal of the relationship.
“Plans are under way by the Command to open offices across zonal areas of the state. This is with a view to enhancing our operations.
“The Command would soon embark on enlightenment campaign where various stakeholders including Traditional Rulers, National Association of Road Transport owners, NDLEA, KAROTA, Motorists, on the danger of reckless driving and violation of its rules,” he said.
The Sector Commander, commended Kano State Government under the leadership of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf for been very supportive to the command, and pledged to work hand in hand with any organisations to improve their services.
In a Statement by the Director Public Relations and Enlightenment of the Kano Housing Corporation, Muhammad Dahir Idris, the Sector Commander later appealed to the MD for an allocation of official residence.
