A member Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Danjuma Usman Shidi, has lauded Journalism Profession saying it is indispensable in democratic governance.
Shiddi, who was speaking on Thursday at the 2021/2022 Matriculation of Diploma students of NTA Television College, Jos, emphasized that Journalists strengthen Democracy.
“I respect Journalists. That is why I am sponsoring students to NTA Television College.
“I know they will learn a lot from the College which have Professional and Veteran Journalists as Lecturers.
“Journalists are capable of bringing governance to a stand still
“I mean, Journalists always put leaders on their toes,” he said.
Hon. Shiddi noted that, it was this singular act that motivated him to sponsor students from his constituency to NTA College to learn and come back to Taraba State and put their knowledge into practice and help build the State.
“In Taraba we need more media and this is part of efforts to achieve that.
“Any student, under my sponsorship who obtains Upper Credit in their Diploma results, will automatically get Degree sponsorship,” he assured the people.
