Mumuye Tribe In Taraba Celebrates 2024 Yam Festival

Report from Mumuye tribe in Yorro Local Government Area of Taraba State, North East Nigeria says, the people of the tribe will, in ten days from now celebrate their annual festival, tagged  ‘SANTII YAM FESTIVAL’.

Our Correspondent reports that the festival, which attracts sons and daughters of Mumuye tribe, is coming up on the 12 October, 2024 at GDSS, Pantisawa, football field.

New yams will be unveiled depicting typological sizes. There will be cultural dances and drums bitting to mark the official unveiling.

It is a salient cultural event that is held annually which features traditional dancing, songs, drumming, as well as the consumption of yams and other traditional delicacies during the celebration.

It also marks the time for families and friends to interact and rejoice together.

The Mumuye yam festival is a robust and breathtaking event that showcase the rich culture and traditions of the Mumuye people.

The festival entices people from all walks of life to grace the event.
