My Opponents Are Not My Enemies – President-elect

President elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmad Tinubu says, his fellow contestants in the just concluded Presidential Election may have opposed him but were not his enemies.

The President-elect stated this while assuring Nigerians that peace, unity and prosperity shall be the cornerstone of the Nigerian society he intends to build.

In an address shortly after his announcement as the winner of the 2023 Nigeria’s Presidential elections, Asiwaju Tinubu said, in the next few years, Nigerians will be proud of themselves because of what his administration will accomplish.

“Remodeling our precious national home requires the harmonious efforts of all of us, especially the youths”, he added.

The President elect said he and the Vice President elect, Kashim Shetima, understand the challenges ahead and pledged to put the nation on the path of irreversible progress.

Asiwaju thanked Nigerians and President Muhammad Buhari in particular for leading his campaign as its chairman.

To his fellow candidates, Asiwaju said “they have his utmost respect adding that they may have been his opponents but certainly not his enemies.”

“I know some Candidates will be hard to accept the election results. It is your right to seek legal recourse. What is neither right nor defensible is for anybody to resort to violence,” he said.

He, however, asked his supporters to allow peace to reign and tensions to fade.

The President-elect also commended INEC for organizing free, fair and credible elections.
