National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children’s Education, NCAOOSCE, is set to enroll over 20,000 children in school.
In a statement, obtained by Nigerian Kicker, Special Assistant to the Executive Secretary (Media & Communications/Spokesperson, National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children’s Education, Nura Muhammad, who disclosed this in Abuja said, the National Commission for Almajiri and Out-of-School Children’s Education (NCAOOSCE) is pleased to announce that it has successfully mopped up over 20,000 out-of-school children in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, within the last three weeks.
According to the Executive Secretary of the Commission, Dr. Muhammad Sani Idris, “this achievement was made possible by the dedicated efforts of the thirty-one enrollment marshals who worked tirelessly to identify the out-of-school children.”
“The strategy of visiting the nooks and crannies of the FCT to identify these children has proven effective, and we believe this model can be replicated across the country and even serve as a benchmark for other nations facing similar challenges.
“With the application of this model and adequate resources, the Commission aims to enroll millions of children in school yearly. Initially targeting 10,000 children, the Commission’s determination and hard work have yielded a remarkable outcome, exceeding expectations,” he said.
Dr. Idris assured the people that by September, when schools reopen, all mopped-up children will be enrolled in school, paving the way for a brighter future.
The Executive Secretary reaffirmed the President Bola Tinubu Administration’s commitment to reforming the Almajiri system of education and ensuring that every Nigerian child has access to quality education.
