A Kano based non-governmental organization, Isa Wali Empowerment Initiative, IWEI, in collaboration with Mercy Corps, has empowered 12,000 youths between the ages of 10 to 24 drawn from five metropolitan Local Government Areas in the state.
The Local Governments include Fagge, Dala, Ungogo, Kumbotso and Tarauni.
A Programme Officer of the organization in Tarauni Local Government, Mrs Joyce Ronke, disclosed this at a two-day workshop organized by the NGO held in Kano on Friday.

She expressed delight over the various skills the participants have acquired and displayed at the workshop which include, Tailoring, Catering, Snacks making, Spices, Zobo drink among others.
Ronke, called on the participants to build good relationship with their customers adding that they should be ready to handle challenges inherent in business undertaking.
Our Correspondent reports that the workshop was geared towards promoting, learning, entrepreneurship and productivity for the youth to become self-reliant.
