Nigerian Army Conducts Field Training Exercise In Jos, Kaduna

Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA) will conduct its final outdoor Field Training Exercise for Army cadets of 71 Regular Course and Direct Short Service Course 28 nick named Exercise CAMP HIGHLAND.

The exercise will hold in Plateau State, North Central Nigeria and Kaduna State, North West Nigeria, beginning from 28 July -17 August 2024.

It is designed to assess the cadets’ leadership skills, application of tactics, command and control capabilities, physical fitness, amongst other areas of military training.

The exercise is also part of the military training activity used in ascertaining the preparedness of the cadets for commissioning as officers into the Armed Forces of Nigeria.

In a press release, obtained by Nigerian Kicker, the Academic public relations officer, Major Mohammad Maidawa says, the Adventure and Leadership Training will be at the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre, Shere Hills, Jos from 28 July to 3 August while Map Reading, Tactical Drills and Battle Inoculation Drills would take place in Kachia in Kaduna general area from 3 – 16 August 2024.

Consequently, communities living around Shere Hills, Jos in Plateau State would observe mass movement of military personnel, vehicles and equipment in the general area during the event, Similarly, residents of KATUL CROSSING – FADAN KAMANTAN axis in ZANGON KATAF Local Government Area of Kaduna State will observe same tactical drills involving firing /simulation of small arms and artillery fire from 12 and 13 August 2024.

Residents in the general areas mentioned  are, therefore, advised not to panic but to go about their normal daily routine activities without fear.

They are to however, report any breach of security to the nearest authorities.
