Nigerian Boxer, Onoriode Ehwarieme, has defeated his American challenger, Jeff Holcomb in round one of their scheduled six round bout in Cleveland, Tennessee on Sunday.
It was the second fight for the ‘knockout specialist’ since he relocated to the United States of America late 2021.
Holcomb gave up the fight after receiving hard punches from Ehwarieme, the Delta born boxer.
“He couldn’t come out after the end of round one. He said he couldn’t continue with the fight,”Ehwarieme told reporters.
Ehwarieme started his professional career in the US beating America’s Rodolzo Damahi Lewis in a six-round bout in South Carolina.
With his victory on Sunday, Ehwarieme has extended his knockouts to 19 in 21 fights.
The Knockout specialist, as Ehwarieme is popularly known, won the heart of Nigerian enthusiasts three years ago through his historic victory over Argentina’s Ariel Baracamonte in a World Boxing Federation (WBF) International heavyweight title fight in Lagos.
Ehwarieme is looking forward to his title fight in the United States later in the year.
