Alhaji Aminu Dantata
Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata, a respected Nigerian businessman and elder statesman, has died.
He reportedly died at the age of 94.
A family member confirmed his passing on Friday, to SolaceBase, prompting tributes and prayers from across the country.
The source said the famous Kano-born businessman died at a hospital in Abu Dhabi at about 3.00am Nigerian time.
“Innalillahi wa inna ilaihi rajiun. It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of our beloved father, Alhaji Aminu Alhassan Dantata.
“May Allah grant him Jannatul Firdaus and forgive his shortcomings. The Janazah details will be shared later, insha Allah,” the family member said in a statement.
Dantata was widely known for his long-standing role in commerce and philanthropy, particularly in northern Nigeria.
He earned a reputation for humility, generosity, and commitment to the public good.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by the family in due course.
