Nigerian Guild Of Editors Hold Town Hall Meeting In Kano

Nigerian Guild of Editors has begun a 3-day Town Hall Meeting and Capacity Building Workshop holding at the Tahir Guest Palace in Kano.

The Town Hall Meeting/Workshop is supported by the US Embassy in Nigeria. It is expected to provide a platform for Editors to be reminded of the sacred duties they are tasked to perform by the constitution on behalf of the citizens drawing from what obtains in advanced countries.

In attendance are personalities including the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero who himself is a trained Journalist, Professor Kamilu Sani Fagge, who is the lead speaker at the occasion, a constitutional lawyer Professor Auwalu Yadudu, former president of the Nigerian Guild of Editors Baba Halilu Dantiye (mni), former Deputy President of the Guild Suleiman Uba Gaya, and Kano State Commissioner of Information comrade Mohammed Garba.

Others are NLC Chairman Kano State comrade Kabiru Ado and Chairman Kano Council of the NUJ, comrade Abass Ibrahim.

The first leg of this meeting/workshop had been held for Editors in South West Nigeria in December, 2021.

The Information Officer/Spokes Person for the US Embassy in Nigeria, M.J. Clerk is also in attendance.
