National Bureau of Statistics, NBS, says goods valued at 13.7 trillion Naira were imported into Nigeria from January to September, 2021.
Data obtained from the institution indicates that the country also imported manufactured goods worth 757 billion Naira during the period under review accounting for 0.06 per cent of the total trade of 24.3 trillion Naira.
According to the NBS statistics, the value of trade in the manufacturing sector in the first quarter of 2021 stood at 4.7 trillion Naira representing 49.01 per cent of the country’s total trade in the period.
Exports accounted for 250 billion Naira and import components stood at 4.5 billion Naira out of 4.78 trillion Naira.
The data also showed that Manufactured goods imported into the country included antibiotics, used vehicles, motorcycles and machines, for the reception of voice, pointing out that goods exported from the country included vessels and other floating structures as well as aluminium alloys.
