Nigerian Government says, there is no immediate plan to implement the 5 per cent Petroleum Products Tax contained in the new tax legislation.
Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Wale Edun, disclosed this at a press briefing on Tuesday in Abuja.
The tax has reportedly generated widespread anger among Nigerians, with organised labour issuing the government an ultimatum to cancel it or face industrial action. – DP
