Kano State Commissioner of Police, Alhaji Ismail Shuaibu Dikko has reiterated the commitment of the state police command to maintain the existing peace in the state.
He gave the assurance today while playing host to the Kano/Jigawa Forum of the Nigerian Guild of Editors who paid him an advocacy visit in his office.
The Kano Police boss said there is 24 hours surveillance to ensure adequate security of lives and property in the state adding that anyone who thinks otherwise will be disappointed.
He assured interest groups to carry out their legitimate activities without fear of harassment.
Earlier the leader of the Kano/Jigawa Forum of the Nigerian Guild of Editors, Dr. Sule Ya’u Sule told the commissioner that they were in his office to inform him about the forthcoming delegate conference of the Nigerian Guild of Editors slated for the 29th of May 2021 – 2nd June, 2021.
Dr. Sule Ya’u further explained to the commissioner that it was an opportunity for Kano to host the convention which had never taken place in the north for the past 16 years.
He thanked the CP for his promise to provide security personnel during the convention.
