National Security and Civil Defense Corp (NSCDC) Football team, has emerged victorious in the competition organized for security agencies and the public in Kano, North West Nigeria.
In the finals which was played this Friday the 21st of February, 2025, the team defeated the Tarauni Babies by a lone goal at the Jidda football field in Tarauni.
The goal which was an own goal was scored in the fifty seventh minute of the second half.
Our Correspondent reports that efforts made by the NSCDC team to increase the tally and the Tarauni Babies to equalize were thwarted by the agility and good reflexes of the two goal keepers.
The trophy was presented to the NSCDC football team by the Sarkin Hausawan Arewa I, Engineer Ambassador Dr. Ya’u Ahmed Yusuf Hotoro, who was the special guest of honour at the finals.

At the end of the competition, Salisu Abubakar of the NSCDC team was adjudged the highest goals scorer with four goals while Alhaji Rabi’u Alhaji, won the award for the best Goalkeeper of the competition.
Nigerian Kicker Correspondent, Alhaji Dahiru Ibrahim Biso, was also recognized as the Best Media Reporter of the competition and was presented with a Medal and Certificate. .
In an address at the closing ceremony, Chief Executive Officer and the Secretary of the Know Your Neighbor Community Development Initiative, organizers of the competition, Comrade Muhammad Sani Garba and Mustapha Habib Abbas said the competition has succeeded in bringing together security agencies and the public.
They explained that this was necessary for peaceful coexistence in the society.
The match was watched by officials of the NSCDC and football fans in Tarauni and neighbouring areas.
