Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, has again expressed concerns over what it calls, “the soaring unemployment,” in the country.
In a communique signed by the National Secretary of the union, Mallam Shuaibu Usman Leman, the union urged the Federal Government to immediately consider recruiting more workers in all the Federal Government Ministries, Agencies and Parastatals.
It particularly advised the FG to pay attention to recruitment of junior workers with respect to Federal Character Principles in the spirit of fairness, equity and national cohesion.
The Union’s NEC held in Asaba, the Delta state capital also expressed worry with the high rate of inflation which has eroded the purchasing power of the Nigerian citizens thereby increasing their sufferings.
