Olu of Apata in Lokoja Local Government of Kogi State, Oba Fredrick Durojaiye Balogun JP, on Tuesday lauded Kogi SSG, Mrs Folashade Arike Ayoade, for exemplifying the crucial role women play in leadership and nation-building efforts.
In a statement signed in Lokoja, Oba Balogun congratulated Ayoade on her recent conferment with the honorary chieftaincy title of Yeye Oba of Mopa Land by the Elulu of Mopa, Oba Muyiwa Ibeun, over the weekend.
The traditional ruler commended Ayoade for her impactful service since her appointment as SSG in 2016 by former Gov. Yahaya Bello.
“Since she came on board, Kogi West has enjoyed her tremendous goodwill, especially in the areas of development projects and fostering peaceful coexistence among residents,” he said.
He further described Ayoade, the chairperson, forum of SSGs to APC governors, as a role model to women, particularly young women aspiring to make their mark politically, socially, and professionally.
“Leadership is about touching lives, and the SSG has shown that women can contribute meaningfully to nation-building if given the opportunity,” Balogun added.
He expressed confidence that the Yeye Oba title would inspire her to do even more for Mopa land and the entire state.
Oba Balogun also applauded Gov. Ahmed Ododo for reappointing Ayoade as SSG, noting her track record of excellence and dedication to public service.
He offered prayers for her continued health, grace, and wisdom to support the Elulu in advancing the development of Mopa land.
The traditional ruler, however, congratulated Ayoade on her appointment as the chairperson, forum of SSGs to APC governors in the country.
Our Correspondent reports that the chieftaincy ceremony, held last Saturday in Mopa, drew a gathering of prominent figures to celebrate Ayoade’s recognition.
