Over 1,500 Women Police Officers  Trained On  Tactical Operations Pass Out

A report from Uyo, the Akwa Ibom State Capital, South-South Nigeria says one thousand, five hundred and eleven Police Women Officers, who received an intensive retraining on tactical and operational program, have passed out.

In a statement, obtained by Nigerian Kicker, the Akwa Ibom State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Timfon John, says the Police Women Officers who were drawn from Divisions and Area command underwent a three months rigorous exercises such as advanced drill, stripping and assembling of arms and weapon exercises.

Others are tactical formation, tactical combat casualty care and cordon and defence operations, among others.

Addressing the women police officers, Akwa Ibom State Commissioner of Police, Baba Mohammed Azare, described the retraining as a strategic move to strengthen the security architecture of the state and Nigeria at large.

“This training is not just a routine exercise; it is a deliberate and strategic initiative that underscores the evolution of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF), under the visionary leadership of the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun Ph.D., NPM, CP Azare explained.

He also emphasized that the newly trained officers will play a critical role in ensuring energy security across the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

The Commissioner of Police paid tribute to late CP Waheed Ayilara, under whose tenure the training initiative began and commended the former Squadron Commander of the 26 PMF, ACP Baba Mala Mohammed, in whose tenure the training was conceived and started.

CP Azare also commended the Akwa Ibom State Governor, Pastor Umo Bassey, for his commitment to security which has made the state one of the safest states in Nigeria.

He pledged the readiness of the Command to collaborate with sister security agencies in the state and commended the Press for their objective reporting and continued support.

CP Azare assured the people of the state that the Nigeria Police Force remains steadfast in its mission to ensure peace, security and safety across the state and the nation as a whole.

The Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, who was represented by his Special Adviser on Security Matters, DIG Adeyemi Ogunjemilusi, rtd, congratulated the women police officers and urged them to remain committed and be professional in the discharge of their duties.

He commended CP Azare and his team for their commitment in keeping the state safe and promised his continued support to them.
