Passengers Stranded In Abuja As Scarcity Of Petrol Bites Harder

By Abdulrasheed Yusuf

Reports from Abuja the Federal Capital Territory say residents are lamenting the scarcity and high cost of petrol.

Our correspondent reports that the non-availability of fuel has led to boom in “black market sales” which motorists now found as alternative.

Currently, black-marketers are making brisk sales in various areas including Gwarimpa area of Abuja where a 10 liters of fuel now sells at N4,500 000 Naira.

“10 liters of fuel in the black market now sells for N4,500 in Gwarimpa Area,” a motorist lamented.

Fewer commercial vehicles are now on Abuja roads, therefore, most passengers and motorists now opt to trek distances.

Longer queues are also being witnessed in petrol filling stations across the city.
