Akwa Ibom State Commissioner of Police, Baba Mohammed Azare
A report from Akwa Ibom State, South-South Nigeria says, four Truck drivers have been charged to Court by the Police for deliberately obstructing public highway.
The act by the drivers was said to have disrupted vehicular movement which they did in an attempt to prevent another driver from fleeing after recklessly hitting a tricycle driver on Monday the 10th of February. The tricycle was damaged while the passengers received injuries
A statement issued by the Akwa Ibom State Police Public Relations Officer DSP Timfon John said frantic efforts made by the Police Officers to de-escalate the situation and restore normalcy, was refused by the truck drivers.

The Police Command says it will not tolerate any act of lawlessness and obstruction of public highways.
It says the Command under the leadership of CP Baba Mohammed Azare will remain steadfast in ensuring law and order and appealed to all road users and members of the public to conduct themselves responsibly and cooperate with the police for a peaceful society.
