Professor Nentawe Yilwatda
All Progressives Congress (APC) has chosen a new national chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda.
Chairman of the Progressive Governors and Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodima, raised the motion to appoint the Humanitarian minister as Chairman and was seconded by Speaker, House of Representatives, Abba Tajudeen
He was selected on Thursday at the ongoing APC NEC meeting in Abuja.
He was immediately sworn in.
He took over from Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, who stepped down recently due to health reasons.
Professor Yilwatda is currently the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and was once a university lecturer.
His selection follows an agreement reached during a late-night meeting in Abuja between President Bola Tinubu and APC governors.
56 – year – old Yilwatda is from Plateau State and was the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in the state during the 2023 general elections.
