Protesters Demand Sack Of Commissioner In Jigawa State

Report from Jigawa State, North West Nigeria says, hundreds of aggrieved citizens from Ringim local government area of the state have staged a peaceful protest at the State’s Government House in Dutse, the Jigawa state capital, calling for the immediate removal of the State Commissioner of Agriculture, Muttaka Namadi from office.

The protesters, comprising youth, political leaders, and business owners, reportedly blocked the main entrance and chanted slogans, expressing their disappointment with Namadi’s performance.

Malam Bashir Muhammad DanMalam, speaking on behalf of the protesters, accused Namadi of neglecting his constituents and engaging in anti-party activities adding that, the commissioner has “failed to bring meaningful development to our area and does not represent us well in government.”

“It’s time for him to resign or face a vote of no confidence,” DanMalam said

The protesters alleged that Namadi’s “incompetence, sabotage, and anti-party actions would lead to APC losing members and supporters to opposition parties.”

DanMalam hailed the protest as a triumph for democracy and accountability, demonstrating the power of collective action and commitment to good governance.

According to Hotpen, security personnel and government officials attempted to intervene, but the protesters insisted on delivering their grievances directly to Governor Umar Namadi.

However, the party chairman, Aminu Sani, received their letter and assured them that he would convey their message to the governor for appropriate action.
