Our Correspondent, who monitored the situation of the LG elections conducted last week in Jigawa state by the State Independent Electoral Commission reports that, he first went to Ringim, the seat of Ringim Emirate, where he witnessed peaceful atmosphere nearly in all the wards and some polling units out of 240 polling units across the state.
At the initial stage, our reporter started to show his worries about the low turn-out of voters, but later realised that it was a mistake to assess and weigh
the turn-out of the voters as early as 10:am.

For this reason, our man proceeded to some polling units in Taura local government area for the same purpose where he found a large turn-out of the eligible voters, mostly female folks. In Taura Special Science Primary School with 7 polling units, the number of female voters exceeded that of their male counterparts.
After going round most of the polling units, our man made a u-turn to Ringim to assess the turn-out, where as expected, the turn-out was impressive thus he asked about the magic played by the Electoral Commission persuading the voters to come out to exercice their civic right, the answer was that Ringim is counted among five local government areas where opposition parties fully fielded candidates besides ‘Yankwashi, Mallam-Madori, Gwaram and Kafin-Hausa.
Earlier, entertaining questions from our man, the officer in-charge of the election for the Jigawa Independent Electoral Commission in Ringm, Habibu Uba Ringim, made it clear that, his office had, very early in the morning ordered its staff to make sure that all election materials were distributed to all the polling units as designed and planned.
Generally, as narrated by our man, the elections went on peacefully & hitch-free in nearly all the 27 local government areas across the state.
