The newly established Society of Nigerian Broadcasters, has begun training of its members.
Recalled that the professional Body successfully inducted the first batch of members in December, 2022.
A statement signed by Mallam Usman Umar Bello, dated 10th March, 2023, invites all members of the Society to attend a Workshop and Interactive Session for inducted members of the Society.
“In conformity with the objectives of establishing the Society of Nigerian Broadcasters (SNB), as the only professional body in the Industry, it is necessary at the moment to kick start capacity building such as workshops, seminars, summits on different aspects having successfully inducted the first batch of members in December 2022.
“Only inducted members of the society are to attend the one-day workshop targeting at Broadcasting Ethics, especially on post election, production and presentation of programmes as well as essence of a professional body,” the statement said.
The statement also noted that the Body was mindful of the “current unfriendly economic situation in the country and decided to decentralize the workshop into five zones.”
They include, North Central, Abuja, Tuesday, March 14th 2023 at Hawthorn Suites Area 11, Garki Abuja; Kano, Monday, March 27, 2023 at ARTV station; Lagos, March, 21, 2023 at Radio Lagos/Eko FM Hall; South West, Thursday, March 23, 2023 venue to be communicated while South – South/South East, Port-Harcourt, venue and date also to be communicated.
According to the statement, the workshop, which will feature high ranking professionals from both Academia and within the Industry, will at the end of the workshop, enable members to utilize the knowledge acquired towards raising the ethical standard of broadcasting.
The statement further explained that members will be responsible for their accommodation and transportation while SNB will provide materials, refreshments and honorarium for resource persons.
Each inducted member is expected to come with evidence of payment of induction fee and Muffler and Batch Pin of SNB to the workshop.
