Reports from Damaturu, the Yobe State Capital says, some suspected criminals are now disguising as taxi drivers operating at night to rob unsuspecting members of the public.
The Management of the Yobe State Road Traffic Agency (YOROTA) has therefore warned residents of Damaturu against boarding unregistered taxis at night.
In a statement posted on its verified Facebook page on Saturday, the Agency said it received a report about some suspected criminals operating taxi service at night to rob people.
“Report just reached us of a suspected criminal operating taxi service this night.” It said.
Meanwhile, YOROTA has deployed its Marshalls to strategic places in the state capital to apprehend the suspects.
