Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III, has announced Friday the 21st of April 2003 as the 1st day of Shawwal 1444 AH which is Eid-El Fitr day.
The Sultan who made the announcement on Thursday night in his Palace in Sokoto said, this followed the sighting of the new moon crescent in many parts of Nigeria.
He prayed Allah to accept the worship by Muslims and for peace and unity in the country.
The Sultan also prayed for the outgoing administration and for Allah to guide the new elected leaders in the discharge of the affairs of the country.
Nigerian Kicker had earlier reported that the Moon Cresent was sighted in Saudi Arabia on Thursday and the Kingdom was set to celebrate Eid-el-fitr tomorrow Friday 21st April, 2023.
