Three Traditional Rulers Die In Auto Accident In Oyo State

Three traditional rulers in Ori Ire LGA of Oyo state, South West Nigeria, on Friday, died in a road accident.

Oyo state sector commander of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC), Joshua Adekanye, who confirmed the incident said, the accident was a head-on collision between private and commercial vehicles along the Ogbomoso-Oyo expressway.

The traditional rulers were identified as Olodogbo of Odogbo, Onibowula of Bowula and Alayetoro of Ayetoro.

The Cable reports that the Monarchs were  going to a social event in a neighbouring town when the accident happened.

The accident involved a Benz car and a Scania truck.

Two of the affected traditional rulers were said to have died on the spot while the third person died at the Ladoke Akintola University Teaching Hospital.

The three survivors from the accident are currently receiving treatment at the hospital.

The survivors are reportedly undergoing treatment at the LAUTECH teaching hospital while the corpses of the victims have been deposited at the morgue.
