Uncertainty Blows In Kano Over Return Of Sanusi Lamido

Reports from Kano say, uncertainty is brewing over the tensed atmosphere following the scrapping of the five emirate councils and the reenthronment of Muhammadu Sunusi II as the the 16th emir of Kano.

Our Correspondent reports that the deposed Emir, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, had earlier this morning returned to Kano and moved directly to the Nasarawa Palace.

Reports say he was accompanied by Military escort to the palace.

Sequel to the return of Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, the Kano State governor directed for his arrest for trying to breach the existing peace.

The state government accused former Governor Ganduje and the National Security Adviser, Alhaji Nuhu Ribadu, for their efforts in forceful return of the deposed emir.

Meanwhile, the combination of security agencies in Kano State say they are supporting the Federal High Court order which directed for the stay of action in the reinstatement of Mohammed Sunusi II as the 16th Emir of Kano. The third of June has been fixed for hearing in the case.

Addressing Newsmen after their meeting, Kano State Commissioner of Police, Mohammed Hussaini Gumel, said the security agencies will not allow anybody to disrupt the existing peace in the state.

They therefore  advised those who may wish to foment trouble to be cautious as the full wrath of the law will be applied on them.
