Unity Cup: NSCDC Team Qualifies For Finals

National Security and Civil Defense Corp (NSCDC) football team, has qualified for the finals of the unity cup competition between security agencies and the public in Kano, North West Nigeria.

In the first semi finals played this Friday the 14th of February, 2025, the team defeated the Kundila-Daurawa selected team by three goals to one.

Our Correspondent who watched the match reports that all the goals were scored in the first half of the game.

Saddiq “Baron” opened the scoring for the National Security and Civil Defense Corp in 7th minute of the match and eight minutes later Abba Junior increased the tally to two for the NSCDC.

Our Correspondent also reports that because of the pressure mounted by the Kundila-Daurawa selected team, they reduced the tally by scoring a goal through Amir Ahmed in the twenty fifth minute of the match.

The hopes of the Kundila-Daurawa selected team was however dashed when Abba Junior scored the third goal for the National Security and Civil Defense Corp team in the dying minutes of the first half.

The brace scored by Abba Junior has raised the number of goals he scored in the competition to four.

The National Security and Civil Defense Corp football team will now await the winner of the second semi finals which is to be played on Saturday the 15th of February between the National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency NDLEA team and the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti Corruption Commission Football team.

The competition which is being organized by the Know Your Neighbor Community Development Initiative, a Non-governmental organization Kano, was watched by many soccer fans in Tarauni, venue of the match.
