People in Yanoko community of Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State, North-West Nigeria, will soon smile as the construction of water conservation structure and minor irrigation facilities in the area is near completion.
Kano State Coordinator of Nigeria Erosion and Watershed Management Project, Alhaji Musa Shu’aibu disclosed this to newsmen while inspecting the Yan Sabo Water project in Tofa Local Government, about 30 kilometers from Kano metropolis.
“In the next four weeks, the project would have reached 80 per cent completion for the benefit of the people in the area,” he said.
He appealed to the community to support and cooperate with the officials towards the overall success of the project.
Our correspondent reports that the people in the area expressed happiness over the project which they believe will impact positively on their lives when completed and pledged their continued support to the state government’s initiatives.
Consultant handling the project, Mr. Joseph Yaban expressed the hope that the work will be completed in record time.
