Digital Development Hub Launches Creative Industry Connect Series

Digital Development Hub (DD Hub), one of Northern Nigeria’s leading innovation, skills development, and enterprise support organizations, has officially launched the DD Hub Creative Industry Connect Series.

Nigerian Kicker reports that the initiative is to connect emerging creative talents with leading industry professionals and entrepreneurs.

It is a high-impact mentorship and industry engagement platform designed to connect aspiring creative professionals with accomplished practitioners across Nigeria’s creative and digital economy.

The initiative, which forms part of DD Hub’s broader talent development and enterprise incubation strategy under its Creative Founders School Programme, will provide trainees and emerging creatives with direct access to leading professionals in film production, broadcasting, animation, content creation, digital marketing, creative entrepreneurship, skills outsourcing, and other high-growth segments of the creative economy.

The Creative Industry Connect Series is being introduced as the Creative Media Production Programme enters its final implementation phase, creating a unique opportunity for participants to complement their technical training with practical industry insights, professional mentorship, and exposure to real-world opportunities.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of Digital Development Hub, Abdulganiyu Rufai Yakub, the initiative was conceived to strengthen the transition from training to employment, entrepreneurship, and professional practice.

“Technical skills alone are no longer sufficient in today’s competitive economy. Young people need access to mentors, industry networks, practical insights, and opportunities that help them navigate the realities of the workplace and the creative marketplace. The Creative Industry Connect Series was designed to provide exactly that bridge.”

The programme will feature weekly interactive engagements with distinguished industry leaders, accomplished creatives, media professionals, entrepreneurs, and innovators who have built successful careers and enterprises within Nigeria’s rapidly expanding creative sector.

Rather than adopting a traditional lecture format, the sessions will be conducted through roundtable discussions, fireside chats, masterclasses, portfolio reviews, mentorship conversations, and open question-and-answer engagements.

This approach is intended to create a more relaxed, interactive, and impactful learning environment where participants can engage directly with professionals and learn from their experiences.

The initiative aligns with DD Hub’s vision of developing globally competitive talents equipped not only with technical competencies but also with the entrepreneurial mindset, professional networks, and industry exposure required to thrive in the digital economy.

Over the coming weeks, participants will engage with experts from diverse fields, including:
● Film and Television Production
● Acting and Performance Arts
● Cinematography
● Video Editing and Post-Production
● Broadcasting and Digital Media
● Animation and Motion Graphics
● Content Marketing and Digital Storytelling
● Social Media Communications
● Creative Entrepreneurship
● Skills Outsourcing and Remote Work
● Emerging Creative Technologies

The launch comes at a time when Nigeria’s creative economy continues to gain global recognition as a major driver of employment, innovation, and economic growth. Through initiatives such as the Creative Industry Connect Series, DD Hub aims to position Northern Nigeria as a strategic hub for creative talent development, enterprise creation, and digital innovation.

As part of the rollout, the inaugural session will feature respected media professional Salisu T. Balarabe of Arewa24, who will engage participants on opportunities, challenges, and career pathways within the broadcasting and media industry.

DD Hub has called on media organizations, production companies, broadcasters, technology firms, development partners, investors, and creative industry stakeholders to collaborate in supporting the next generation of creative professionals and entrepreneurs.
