At least five persons have been reportedly hospitalized following fire outbreak in Lagos Campus of the Nigerian Law School, located at Ozumba Mbadiwe Street, Victoria Island.
Eye witness say the incident caused pandemonium among the students causing people to scamper for their own safety.
The fire is said to have started at 10pm and allegedly caused by an electrical fault from the first floor of the five-story building hostel accommodating about 1,500 law graduates on the Lagos campus.
“There was stampede in the hostel. Some students jump out from the first floor where the fire started near the reading room,” an eye witness told our correspondent.
Public Affairs Officer of the Lagos State Fire Service, Amodu Shuabu, who confirmed the incident said it was a minor fire and no casualty recorded.
