Edo State Police Command has confirmed the killing of three farmers by gunmen in Sobe community in Owan West Local Government Area of the state.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Chidi Nwabuzor, disclosed this to newsmen on Wednesday in Benin.
He said the Divisional Police Officer at Sobe Divisional Headquarters reported that on March 4, some armed men stormed a farm settlement in the community and killed the three farmers.
“The assailants, however, abandoned the bodies of their victims at the farm settlement,” he said.
Nwabuzor identified the deceased as John Udo, Lucky Euze and Pastor Ogbe Unuoha, whose bodies, he said, had been recovered by the police and deposited at a mortuary.
According to the police spokesman, investigation was ongoing, assuring that the perpetrators would be arrested and brought to justice.
