Report from Ondo State, South West Nigeria says, the Returning Officer for the All Progressives Congress (APC) during the April 20 governorship primaries in Ward 10 of Akoko Southwest Local Council area of Ondo State, Alaba Abe, popularly known as ‘Excel’, has been killed by unknown gunmen.
Daily Post reports that the incident took place on Saturday night around 9:00 p.m. in front of the deceased residence in Supare-Akoko within the council area.
Sources within the area, speaking on condition of anonymity, revealed that the assailants ambushed the deceased as he was about to enter his house, and fatally shot him.
Director of Information for the Lucky Aiyedatiwa Campaign Organisation Foot Soldiers, LACO-FS, Kayode Fasua, who confirmed the killing, called on the police authorities to ensure the safety and security of its members against any potential threats from political opponents.
According to Fasua, the late Alaba Abe was a dedicated and resourceful coordinator who campaigned tirelessly for the success of the election and the emergence of Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa.

When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, in the state, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, disclosed that an investigation has commenced to apprehend those behind the murder.
“The command is aware of the incident at Supare, investigation is ongoing to unravel all that happened,” he added.
