Saratu Gidado
A popular Kannywood Actress, Saratu Gidado, known as Daso, has been awarded with a Life Time Achievement Award by National Film Corporation, Jos, Plateau state, North Central Nigeria.
Saratu was given the award on Friday at the Zuma Film Festival Award, which took place at the International Conference Centre in Abuja.

Management of the Film Corporation said, the Award is in recognition of Saratu’s contributions in the promotion of Art and Culture through the Nigeria film Industry.
In a letter from the Corporation to Saratu, informing her of the Award, the organization said she was being honoured, particularly because of her debut film, “Linzami Da Wuta” produced in the year 2000, which it said, brought her into the limelight as a prolific and celebrated Actress in Kannywood.
Saratu Gidado has reportedly featured over 100 movie titles such as, Cudanya, Nagari, Sansani, Mashi, Gidanauniya among others.
The Film Corporation, described Saratu as, “now a model for aspiring film talents.”
The Nigerian film Actress is a Kano state indigene from Chiranchi in Gwale Local Government Area.
She was born on 17th January, 1968 and attended her Primary School in Kano.
Reacting to the Award through her Facebook Account, Saratu who was beaming with smile through out the ceremony said, she was grateful to God and the National Film Corporation for the Award.
“Thank you. I am gracious. Alhamdu lillah,” she wrote.
