Kano State Govt Declares Monday Public Holiday

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has declared Monday, July 8, 2024 as public holiday in commoration of the beginning of new Islamic calendar 1446 AH.

A statement by the State Commissioner for Information, Baba Halilu Dantiye says, the Governor enjoined the people to utilize the holiday to reflect on the previous year and commit themselves in mutually beneficial activities that will bring succur to the people in “this difficult and trying times.”

“The government will continue to initiate policies and programmes that will empower people to be self dependent.

“The governor urged Muslim Ummah to intensifies prayers for continued peace and progress in the State,” the statement said.

The Governor expressed optimism with prayers and support of the people, adding that his administration will turn around the fortunes of the state and return it to the most economically prosperous state among it’s pears in Nigeria.
