Preparatory to 2024 May Day celebration, the Plateau State Council of Radio, Television, Theatre & Arts Workers Union of Nigeria, RATTAWU, has organized a one-day Symposium and Awards presentation.
Our Correspondent reports that the event took place at Fox Hotel, 18th Street, Utonkon Road, by National Library in Jos metropolis.

In his Keynote address, anchored on the theme, “Social Justice, Decent Work and “The time is now mantrax” of Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, Executive Governor of Plateau State, the Director-General, Research, Planning and Documentation, Government House, Jos, Plateau state, Dr. Sam Godoms highlighted the vision and mission of Governor Mutfwang.
Godoms, who described the topic as timely and thought provoking said, issues of today cannot be pushed aside adding that social justice is at the core of policy formulation which has become deficit.
According to Godoms, “we need to deal with this social deficit in our society.”
He noted that, the vision and mission of Governor Caleb Mutfwang’s administration and it’s motto – The time is now, are together, directed towards making Plateau state a better society.
“There is a current social dissatisfaction. There is a need for change. Unity of purpose and direction is necessary for the Government’s success for a prosperous and secured Plateau state,” he said.
Godoms added that, the Pillars of Mutfwang administration’s motto are, Peace, security and good governance; Sustainable economic rebirth and Robust physical infrastructures development.
Declaring the occasion open, Plateau state Commissioner of Information and Communication, who was also the Chairman of the occasion, Ibrahim Musa Ashoms, expressed appreciation for the resilience of RATTAWU members in moving the Union forward.
“As you fraternize and brainstorm on the way forward for the Union, and also reward resilience, excellence and hard work among contributors of development in our country, may this occasion further cement the bonds of relationship between government and the workers for higher productivity and welfare,” he said.
