Sudan: Azman Plane Arrives Egypt To Airlift Second Batch Of Nigerians

An Azman Air plane has landed in Egypt to airlift the second batch of stranded Nigerians fleeing Sudan The Cable reports.

The Airline made the announcement in a statement on Friday.

Azman said it obtained the necessary approval in Egypt and that its Airbus A340-600 with registration 5N-AAM arrived at the Aswan International Airport at exactly 7:15 pm local time on Thursday from Kano state.

“We are currently on standby to welcome Nigerians to be evacuated,” the statement reads.

The airline also said it was delighted to be of great service to the country.

On Monday, Azman Air announced that it got approval from the Federal Government to commence evacuation on Tuesday.

Nigerian Kicker reported that the first batch of Nigerians evacuated from Egypt by Air Peace arrived at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja at about 11:30 pm on Wednesday.

Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Disaster Management, Sadiya Farouk, said each returnee would be given N100,000.
