December’s ranking by FIFA on Thursday indicates that the body has ranked Super Eagle as the 36th best team in the world following their success in 2022 World Cup play-offs.
This means that the Super Eagles finished among the top five African countries.
The three-time African champions are only behind Senegal (20th), Morocco (28th), Algeria (29th) and Tunisia (30th).
This development guarantees Nigeria’s spot as one of the seeded teams for the 2022 World Cup playoff draws.
Only the top five ranked teams are guaranteed a seeded place in Africa’s World Cup playoffs draw which is scheduled for January, 26th 2022.
