Report from Jos, the Plateau state capital, North Central Nigeria says, Jos Book Fair 2024 has opened in Jos on Thursday.
The three days event is holding at the premises of National Library of Nigeria, Jos, beside Plateau State Polytechnic, Jos campus.
Convener of the Book Fair and Team Leader of Campus Mission and Leadership Initiative, (CMLI), Hankuri Tawus Gaya, told Nigerian Kicker that, the theme of the Book Fair is “Books as bridges: fostering peace through literature” holding from 25th to 27th April, 2024.

He described the Fair as the biggest Book gathering to hit the city of Jos.
“We are passionate about books and the power they have to change individuals and whole societies.
“The more people read the more they learn about themselves and the world around them. When you read you change on some level, and for the better.
“The Jos Book Fair seeks to make books available and accessible to people,” he said.
Gaya added that they had established a community library in Angwan Rogo, in collaboration with Jenta-Reads Community Initiative, to encourage reading in the communities and entrench reading culture.
“We hope to make Jos a leader in literacy and development in Nigeria,” he promised.
Our Correspondent reports that the Book Fair is featuring, book sales and display, workshops, book exhibition, panel discussion and author signing.
Others are story telling, poetry, performance, children book corner and children including constume display among others.
